My name is Kasidi Jordan, I am from Herndon, Virginia, and I am a fashion merchandising major at VCU.
Fashion is something that I have been passionate about for almost all of my life. I am a very visual person and I believe that is the main reason why I have always been so drawn to fashion. There is nothing more satisfying to me than putting together a piece that is visually pleasing.
When I was a kid, shows like America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway peeked my interest in fashion. I would binge watch whichever marathon was playing for the day for hours on end, not realizing how much these shows would impact my life later as I became so interested and inspired by the fashion world. My family also played a significant role in my interest in fashion. When my cousin and I were younger, we used to put on fashion shows for my grandmother or my aunts nearly every weekend, and they always made it a point to make sure we took pride in the way presented ourselves, no matter the occasion.
It took me a little while to get here but I am so excited to learn more about the things that I am so passionate about and to see where this path takes me.
